 Question on European Parliament
« Thread Started on Oct 23, 2009, 3:45pm »

I'm aware of the controversy over allowing the BNP leader to participate a BBC show. Is this guy actually a British MP, or something else, I read that they have 2 seats in the European Parliament. Is the British Parliament part of this...

thanks

I watched the programme..

O what a 'hornet's nest' as the saying goes, could be stirred up with this post. It would be judgemental of me to even whisper 'viper's nest,' in lieu would that that animal be a relative of a transparent chameleon.

I therefore say I have seen your question but will only say he is not an elected member of the English Parliament, wich is now separate from the now devolved Scottish, Welsh and N. Irish Pariaments though he would dearly like to be should he find enough fascists in one constituency to vote for him, and him take a chance competing against contending members of the established members of parties whether formerly elected \m.\ps or not.

I won't talk about Europe, and hope someone else will help you. However there are many references if one researches "The Lisbon treaty" which apparently will sound the death-knell to this country as it unfortunately stands.

How's that for non-judgemental.

Okay, thanks Jack. I thought it was a different entity and not the British Parliament. I didn't realize that Ireland had voted again on the issue. I gather you don't think much to the EU.

I suppose if this guy lived in the U.S. he'd be a card carrying KKK member.

My reference to "Chameleon demonstrates your analogy FG. During the prog. In his squirming from one one moment to another with hypocritical nonsense in reply to serious questions he said that he knew of peaceable KKK members.

As for Europe I am not a blinkered xenophobe and no, there are some good things that emanate from being members of the European Community; nor am I like King Canute another illegal immigrant / in the 'royal' family leading the Scandinavian invaders in 11th century who is reputed to have placed his throne/ deckchair, (whatever)at the edge of the sea and ordered the waves to recede and I bow to the inevitable.

Our Parliament is not technically subordinate to the E.C. yet de facto is, in many respects. The Lisbon treaty, once ratified by all will put yet another nail in the coffin. Our erstwhile Prime Minister Tony Blair is widely favoured to be elected/appointed the President of the 'new' E.C.

Yet he is to be a witness in the British Public Enquiry into the legality of our going to war in Iraq and his responsibility whilst in office. in the ghastly affair.

This is probably simply, and crudely written but what do you expect at 0210am after being awakened by the dogs again, this time at 12nt -ish. and now just seeing My Beloved back to bed after she wandered down an hour later.

night-night

So now the last remaining country out of the 23 nations of the E.C. (not without demur from their leader (bless him) has ratified the the Lisbon Treaty and we are all but in name the "United States of Europe." A thicker end of the wedge, the thin end having been slid under to tilt us long since.

"We have crossed the Rubicon."

If it were not somewhat distateful, perhaps?, to say this to you good people please "say one for me" I would.

Remember "Waterloo.?"

Of course I write with a little bit tongue-in-cheek, and I am not a short sighted-bigotted isolationist there are good things and bad in the whole shebang.
