"Still so much to see," you're dead right there; CJ Canada being the second largest country on this earth.

Took sooo many photos on this and previous trips to Canada, and would have taken more had my camera not developed a fault and was virtually eating batteries like our Labrador 'tucks into' her dish of food.

Distance from the animals we saw, of which those portrayed above are but few, were quite close; the feeding bear and coyote not too far from the side of our coach, say aout 10 yds at their nearest. Moose, and Wapiti about twice that distance and quite happy to be more or les stationary. We wre warned by the very personable and entertaining coach driver that we would only stop once at an excellent viewing spot off the road overlooking the lake were what the Ozzies would call a "Dunny" ( primitive toilet redolent of the trains in China, about which I will say no more just here0 was postioned. The driver's warning was also to prevent wildlife being unnecessarily 'domesticated' as were the mountain goats in a flock visiting people to be fed by people on foot and passenger in stationary cars.

Oh yes, I would truly like to take up our of being hosted at least once each year; and I know that was no 'empty promise' but I do have a 71yr old invalid wife to 'cater for' and convince, (don't ask why), with more likely pitfalls than can easily be foreseen notwithstanding impending increasing difficulties with obtaining insurance when I answer the prior interrogation with all truthfulness. But if the answer is "Yes" and we do return 'soon'
this time I will obtain insurance for the correct number of days which will then preclude me making hasty phone calls from the other side of the globe ;D ;D ;D ;D

ttfn
hugs to all who have followed me, you will never know how much I have appreciated it.

I enjoy reading it Frank.....

About your camera--- my canon eats batteries, AAs. I use rechargeables but I don't get much out of them, it's a pain having to carry so many batteries around.

Glad to hear it FG
Thank Fg. I kept it to a reasonable length; not wanting to go babbling on about every little thing we did and saw.

The battery situation started before the holiday and the rechargeables (I always used them) were, despite 'memory leak' giving me far, far less use that expected for they were an acknowledged manufacture. I even used some from a different shop at a different time so I believed them to be from a different batch. The holiday just proved that the camera had suddenly developed into being a sicker aninal than the wildlife we had seen. Un/Fortunately I have another camera to play with untill I make what might be big camera/decisions. But not so ssoon after the holidays........the planned bills/statements are in. Although all cards are always paid off every month end, this time there are more serious priorities in life than camers.

Hi Frank:

I have just finished reading your account of your trip to Canada, and enjoyed it very much. You have a great talent for writing in such a way that I find very interesting.

Thanks for also showing us your pictures.

I am very much heartened to see you in here Fargo and am even more glad that you enjoyed my efforts. For my part I enjoy the writing when I am certain of an audience. You may well prove to be the catalyst to buy another bottle of ink..... however the parameters of current experience is limited as you probably know but I do have memory, and the knowledge that

we may be "returning to Canada soon," but that "soon" being in a few months time.

Hi Frank;

I hope using that name is ok as everyone seems to be using it. What caught my attention was the word 'blogette'. I don't have a blog, and in fact I didn't really know what one was till I read yours. I am a private person, and I have been hiding behind my pictures. I doubt if I would ever get up the nerve to write a blog.

But now I have reached the point where pictures are are not the answer, and there must be something else to do on here. That is why I am searching around and have started 'talking' to people.
Maybe this explains why I am so 'late' with my comments.

Well. 'there you go,' fargo you've started talking to me and that's a start. the "jack tar' is a joke with Kenneth a long standing cyberfriend and Captain of a boat during happy days on another site, now regrettably redundant. Otherwise, I would use my true name, Frank. My Surname is also published after poems I have written in the past. Date of birth strictly a no-no, unless a close enough friend to dial my landline.

Hi Frank:

It seems that talk leads to more talk. When we are separated by such a great distance, this method of communicating is really wonderful. To me it is like chatting over the garden fence.

Last week my wife had the sniffles, and nothing worse we pray and I was called upon to come up with some ideas for meals. We had a package of 17 different kinds of beans that we got at the Fun Fair at Church. I soaked them overnight, then put them in a big pot to simmer for 3 hrs. Then added the important ingredients and simmered some more. (Ingredients veggies and meat balls.

The result was a very sturdy soup with enough left over for the freezer. Frank, I think you know all about having to help out too.

Hi Frank:

I enjoyed talking to you but this is your own private blog, so I will respect that. Maybe I have said too much already.

Hi fargo, whilst it is a facility offered to me quite some time ago I do use it to write my bits and pieces and everyone is welcome to offer a reply or merely acknowledge they have read it. There are existing threads for photos, creative writing and I have no wish to add such in here except on a rare occasion.

It is not a monologue to myself nor a place to confess, even though I do have much to confess;D In fact sometimes I wish more people would read my posts, perhaps they have the same understanding as you.

I have written Journals at home now for some years; particularly accounts of our holidays and am at an age, and a watershed, knowing I am coming, as I get older, to the stage where I will burn out the motor of my paper shredder. Why should my heirs pay extra for the aditional fuel to incinerate piles of words stacked in my coffin.

ANother thread here in my riverside 'blogette' will be considered soon, but the title 'still stands.' "We are returning to Canada soon," but something will be written about that in a short while.

Hi Frank:

The fact that you write with such understanding and depth of perception, you are a joy to read.

fargo,
I trust that the conglomeration of the 17 kinds of beans, veggies and meatballs did your wife and you, a 'power of good' so as to ward off anything serious. How could anything bad approach in the face of such? ;D

................................

Regarding our possible return to Canada, Ann, says she would like to return to Canada next year, one last time.

We shall see; time marches on and life changes and not for the better here in 'The Hermitage.'

It surely would be the last time, for the fact alone that such a long journey would not be good for either of us even though the end of the outward journey tremendously enjoyable. For all my occasional sillyness, and romantic attitude I am a realist, have a modicum of common sense, and can see how that life fast changes here.
